Wii: Hang on for the ride!
Posted by The Inspector on February 2nd, 2007 filed in UncategorizedHaving had a bit of time to check out the new Wii I thought it only seemed appropriate to share this “Inspector’s” view of this system. I know the Wii is selling well at the moment. But I think that is largely due to its low price and new controller that have attracted a lot of casual gamers with short attention spans. For the hardcore gamer Zelda is really the only great game out right now.Any adult who is considering getting the Wii should reconsider what kind of games you want to play. The Wii remote and Nunchuk detect your movements pretty well, but unfortunately how good the control is still depends on how people make their games. The Wiimotes are sleek yet simple. It has a Power button, D-Pad, A button, – and + buttons, Home button, 1 and 2 buttons, and the B trigger. OK. So it doesn’t have the same graphic quality as ps3 and xbox 360. I think my favorite thing besides the control is the channel system. Wehn you boot it up, the Wii displays a number of “channels” that you can choose. There’s the gaming channel, obviously, but then there’s also an internet browsing channel, a virtual console channel (to buy old console classics), and news and weather channels. The Wii makes you feel like you are really playing the games. And, its a workout. There are other games out there worth getting for the Wii. Zelda, which is by itself an instant hit. Then there’s the hilarious Wario Smooth Moves where you have to perform action using your remote to solve a puzzle. Anyhow, the Wii has many features, from downloading NES,SNES,N64,Sega Genesis, and Turbo GraphX games,Internet access,Photo center, and even create a little character called a “Mii”. There are so many aspects I can’t even begin to discuss but essentially If you are into the latest video technologies, get the PS3 or 360. If you want amazing interactive technology that you can forget about AND HAVE FUN, get the Wii..
