I finally have a phone I love to use with VoiP. After muddling along with my old cordless phone for several months I decided to upgrade to something geared specifically to work with VoiP (which by the way is the best thing since sliced bread)! After researching a number of products on the market I went with the Uniden UIP165P Packet8 Compatible 5.8 GHz Digital VoIP Internet Telephone with Speaker Phone. This phone offered everything that I was looking for in one unit.
It features:
Digital signal transmission, which provides minimal channel searching and does not interfere with Wi-Fi networks.
Expandable to include a total of 10 handsets with charging cradles (available separately).
With the UIP165P Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone, Packet8 VoIP service and your broadband connection (Packet8 and broadband both require subscription), you can access the Internet and make phone calls simultaneously.
The UIP165P can connect directly to your broadband modem or can connect to a router or switch in your home network.
It generates and receives voice data and forwards data traffic to your computer or network. With subscription to local service, the phone is compatible with Call Waiting Caller ID.
And many more features typical of any phone system on the market today..
What I love it the expansion capability and crystal clear reception. This phone works incredibly well with my SunRocket VoiP and is holding up nicely to daily abuse from my telecommuting job. A very good investment for anyone looking to upgrade.
