Backup Platinum

in: Spackle, computers, software

A few years ago a virus irreparably corrupted most of the files on my system and I found myself with no backup or way to replace them. This was disaster I never want to experience again and I am now very vigilant about not only Internet security and maintaining a backup of all the important files on my computer. I am always on the look out for new software that enables me to quickly and easily conduct this task a recently discovered Backup Platinum. This product particularly appealed to me because the array of options available for backing up data. I especially appreciated the thirty trial offered to fully test the system before committing to purchase.

This program is extremely user friendly. Backup Platinum features a backup wizard that makes the entire process of backing up files foolproof. Built into the package are very useful features such as being able to back up registries and schedule backups when you aren’t using the computer. This system is wonderful in that users are not pigeon holed into just single destination for back up files. Backup Platinum offers users the option to direct files to a CD, DVD, USB drive, local area network, or FTP server. The software goes a step further and allows users to compress files when storing them via built in integrated ZIP compression. Files are can also be secured by enabling the 128-bit Blowfish encryption. Compress, encrypt or both it is all up to the user. Backup Platinum supports a variety of options for writable media including: CDR, CDRW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW or DVD+RW compatible media. Disk spanning will automatically break larger files up and save them to several disks. One handy feature of Backup Platinum is that you can also erase these types of media via the software. There are a number of features that allow the user to conform the performance of the software to their specific needs such as email notifications, preferences for what programs run before or after a backup, prioritizing activities, and much more.

For my first test of the system I used the Backup Platinum program to backup all the critical files on my home PC for porting to my new laptop. This program definitely delivered as promised for this task. Quickly and easily I uploaded them to the FTP I use for my home network. From there it took just a few clicks and both systems were synchronized. Given the low price of $67, free upgrades, and the fact that this program truly delivers it is a steal in my opinion. I couldn’t ask for more from this program unless it was to see a sleeker and more cutting edge site design to match this cutting edge program!
