    Translation At Last

    in: wordpress plugin

    In an effort to expand my global appeal I have been experimenting with a variety of wordpress plugins for translation with limited success. Today I was reading one of my favorite blogs and Lorelle highlighted a translation plugin that sounds exactly like what I have been searching for!

    Lorelle discusses several plugins but it was the first plugin she pointed out that hit home for my needs ~Wordpress Global Translator:

    Overview

    Global Translator supports blog written on the following languages (not only english ones):

    * English
    * French
    * Italian
    * German
    * Portuguese
    * Spanish
    * Japanese
    * Korean
    * Chinese
    * Arabic
    * Russian
    * Greek
    * Dutch

    The number of the available translations depends on the your blog’s language; if your blog is written in english then 13 translations will be available for you!

    Requirements

    Global Translator has been tested on Wordpress 2.0.3, 2.0.4 and 2.1.1.

    Other details can be found at the link listed above. I have nothing solid yet to say that offering translation of my blog will have any bearing on driving traffic to my sites. I just found it quite interesting that one of my favorite bloggers had the solution I needed. I put out the call on several forums for favored translation plugins but have yet to find one I felt was a keeper. Drop me a line if you have something you like and I will be happy to check it out!
