Going Wireless: Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster

in: wireless

It just isn’t working around here the way we have our computers set up. Working from home requires both bread winners in our house to have access to to the internet. This means have laptop portability anywhere in the house for at least one of us. To accomplish this one device we purchases was the Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster. Thus far we have loved this device which features:
Product Features

* Internet-sharing Router, 4-port Switch, and Wireless-G (802.11g) Access Point
* Protects all wireless transmissions with 128-bit encryption
* New SpeedBooster technology increases wireless network performance by up to 35 percent
* Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) and 802.1x
* Shares Internet connection and other resources with Ethernet wired, 802.11g, 802.11b, and SpeedBooster devices

I should note it is a pain in the neck to install but once up it has revolutionized our house. This is our first laptop and first home network, so we’ve gone from completely immobile at a desktop to carrying this thing to the kitchen, the dining table, our kids’ room, and where ever with no problems - its very liberating!
