The majority of my work from home is completed on my laptop. Never having had a laptop prior to this one I was surprised at how warm it got sitting on my lap. For a while I have been putting a pillow on my lap when not working at a desk to block the heat. In a quest to find a more stable solution I ran across the Xpad. I could not decide if I should get the Xpad or a cooling pad with fans, but after reading all the reviews and the problems the fan models seemed to have, I chose the Xpad. I think I made the right choice. It is small [fits in my carrying case], no parts to break, and keeps my lap/legs cool. The fan on my Dell Inspiron E1505 rarely needs to kick on!!, For the money, it certainly meets my needs.
