I was on my sixth hour of youtube the other day when I came across a wrestler who thought he needed to be fashion conscious and wear one of those big and thick gold chains to the ring. To my surprise he did not remove said chain and in the in the end his opponent used it to bust his head open and choke him out. More and more you see wrestlers like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and other independent wrestlers such as Jimmy Jacobs and Arik Cannon come to the ring with those beaded necklaces on which, if I were a promoter, I would make sure that their opponent would go after each time. To me it is almost disrespectful and says to opposing wrestlers that,”you are not even good enough for me to take this off”. After getting busted open a couple of times and having it jammed down their throat maybe they will leave the jewelry to more appropriate occasions such as tag team bouts with the Christopher Street Connection.
