Graphics card problems…

Just got a new ATI Radeon X1300 512mb AGP graphics card, i have disabled my on board graphics, re-started my computer (with the new graphics card plugged in) and when i plug my monitor cable into the slot on the back of the card my screen says NO-Signal. I tried downloading the drivers from the ATI website but when i tried to install it a error message came up saying to check that i had the right hardware or software and that my hardware or software configuration might not be correct?

I have checked in my device manager and it has not even picked up my new graphics card.

I have checked in my BIOS but to be honest don’t really know what i am looking for.

Can anyone help please?
