I am home today with sick children. Last night the low grade fever that our son had spiked. He was running a temperature of 103.6 degrees at 2:30 in the morning. After calling the ER to see if we should bring him in for a visit we finally drove him there. I waited on hold for about 40 minutes and never got an answer so we just went in. Everything in the newspaper said that you shouldn’t go to the hospital if you thought it might be the H1N1 virus. It is however difficult not to seek help when your child has a raging fever and is really out of it. The hospital stated that he would be treated as having a virus because he had previously had the H1N1 vaccination. I would have felt better if they had checked for the virus anyways.
