Worker bee.

About 5 years ago I completed my Master’s degree in business administration. I thought this would be a great way to advance up the career ladder at my chosen profession. It was with an eye towards higher paying admin jobs that I pursued this degree. Since obtaining my degree my priorities have shifted and I am no longer setting my sights as high. Right now I find I am pretty content just being a worker bee on the food chain without the responsibilities and long hours I once thought were so appealing. There will probably come a time when my kids are older that I once again have that same drive to reach the top. For right now I quite enjoy packing my bag up at 4 pm and being able to walk out the door and leave work behind. It is nice to be home with the kids at night and not have someone paging me or calling for advice on how to handle the newest crisis at work. I am just not one of those people who can juggle it all and do it well at this time of my life.
