Metal detecting.

About a week ago my new metal detector arrived in the mail. This is something I have wanted for a very long time. The metal detector is absolutely amazing for finding coins and jewelry. It is a pretty pricey piece of equipment but I can already tell that it will pay for itself many times over in the coming years. Last night within 5 minutes of going outside I found an 1899 silver dollar. The value of this one coin can range from $30.00 to over $200.00 depending on a number of factors. I haven’t had time to look up the exact value of this coin but figure it was a great find either way. Given that I only spent about a half and hour looking for coins last night I think I did pretty well earnings wise. I would love to be able to find my wife some jewelry or something along those lines. About 16 years ago I lost my wedding band during a softball game and think it would be really great if I could go back to that field and find the ring. It would be a great find considering our 19th anniversary is just about a month away. She was skeptical of spending so much money on a metal detector but I think she is slowly seeing exactly why a more sensitive piece of equipment can pay for itself many times over. I almost wish I had bought it sooner and not spent so much time with an inexpensive metal detector.
