What a water bill!

For almost a year we have fervently hoped that our youngest son would finally be potty trained. It seemed like no matter what we tried to coerce him into using the toilet he simply would have nothing to do with the idea. We watched videos about potty training, tried bribing him, and even showed him every imaginable toilet that was with in reason. I am sure the child has looked at more toilets than a Saniflo toilet salesman. Finally, when it seemed like we really would be sending him to school in diapers something clicked and he started using the toilet. Within a week I would say the child was completely potty trained. In hindsight this is not atypical behavior for him. He really has done everything on his own schedule. Once he gets it in his mind to do something he does it completely. The only thing I wasn’t prepared for when he was finally potty trained is how it would impact our water bill. Because of hid new found fascination with the toilet he is forever flushing it just for the sheer pleasure he seems to derive from the experience. I guess I have to weigh the saving of no longer having to buy diapers against the extra money we are spending in water consumption and realize that his fascination will eventually fade.
