Less technology.

This was one of those days where I spent it doing everything except relaxing. I started a project first thing this morning that sounds like it should be pretty cut and dry. Of course it turned out to be anything but easy. The project involved taking out our 22 year old dishwasher and replacing it with a simple storage place. My wife had realized that she would prefer hand washing dishes to putting them in a dishwasher that used 15 gallons of water and ran for over an hour each time. Our water bills skyrocket each month we rely heavily on the dishwasher. I decided to go along with her suggestion because our kitchen is really small and extra storage space would be great. Removing the dishwasher and building the shelves ended up taking about 6 hours because the previous owners had rigged absolutely everything imaginable in that area of the kitchen. I ended needing new pipes for the sink, new wiring for the outlets that were for some reason running off the wiring to the dishwasher and many other things. At long last the project is done and everything works. The wife is happy and I can now sit down to enjoy what is left of my Saturday. Did I mention there was also a lawn that needed mowing today?
