One project after another.

We are a fairly green family. This isn’t to say that we are going off grid anytime soon but we are inching closer. The thing about really choosing to go after a sustainable type of lifestyle is that you can’t sit on your butt. There are projects to be done and it doesn’t seem to end when you first get started. I suppose if you made one little change and then another a bit later it would be less work. We jumped in with both feet and have never looked back. There are rain barrels to be built and raised garden beds to be tended to. There is food to make and cleaning supplies to attend to. It can be a bit much until you get a system going. Once the system is going it can take on an entertaining aspect because you never have to worry about being bored. Our kids are starting to think of it as everyday life and that is pretty cool. I love that they will not feel that they have to rely on someone to provide for them and will know how to do it themselves. We are getting there but I would still love the occasional mindless day of television.
