Deer in the headlights

So the word came down that not only are they not going to replace our retiree but they are not going to replace the next two people that quit or retire or jump out the third story window due to frustration. The woman next to me has had this dazed look on her face all day like she is standing in line at Walmart staring at the point of purchase displays but for hours rather than the 5 minute it takes to get through the line. We had a meeting about this with our department supervisor who says we need to just keep doing what we are doing and not let it bother us. Easy for her to say, she isn’t doing renewals from last month still.
