So mature.

This week I was asked to give a friend’s child a ride home for a few days from the summer camp our children attend. This child is the same age as my son but seems several years more mature. I don’t know if mature is the right world as opposed to worldly. This child asked me is I had an unlocked phone or a regular cell phone? I have to admit that I just didn’t think 11 year old children knew the difference. She went on to explain that her mother recently bought an unlocked cell phone to replace one she lost. This child as wanted to know if I avidly used a texting package with my cell phone. She apparently frequently uses a cell phone for texting and seemed to know more about it that I do. She was flabbergasted when I told her that we have one cell phone that we share and only use when we travel. I then told her that I have never sent a text message in my life. She didn’t have many more questions for me after that because I am apparently not very hip or cool.
