Rural joys.
Posted by The Inspector on July 6th, 2010 filed in UncategorizedToday I decided the time had come to break down and call Verizon to upgrade our DSL package. Living in a rural area there aren’t many choices as to what type of high speed internet that is available to us. We tried a cable connection but the DSL surprisingly was ultimately faster and more reliable. When we first signed up for dry loop DSL there was only one speed choice available. Over the last year a couple of other packages kept showing up as being available to us. Whenever I tried to use the Verizon website to upgrade I was for whatever reason not able to complete the transaction. After attempting an online chat with Verizon on two different occasions I finally gave up trying to upgrade for a little bit. This morning I decided to give calling Verizon a try. I hesitate to do this because my past experiences have been less than favorable because the customer services agents were clearly overseas and nearly impossible to understand. This time I am pleased to report that I was not transferred 11 times and that my agent was clearly a United States citizen! Yeah Verizon!
