Transitioning

Over the last few months I have started to see my older son transitioning from a child into a young man. He is growing not only physically but also emotionally. I am not eager for the days when he is hormonal and in need of acnepril but I realize that they are coming closer. We are building a different type of father and son relationship that I hope will only grow stronger as we venture into the future. Our activities are starting to be more team like in nature and less about him watching me work. I can only dream that our relationship will evolve in a different way from that of my relationship with my own father. It would be lovely to have the close father and son bond, with my child, that I never experienced with my dad nor will in the future. I know that there will be tough times as he goes through his teenage years but my hope is to keep the door open that he always knows we love him and support him totally.
