Touchy subject…

My in-laws stopped by this week which was a bit unusual because this was on a Friday night. Usually when they come by it is late morning or early afternoon. I wondered immediately what was up and why they were here. As it turns out they had just come from an auction. If you knew my father-in-law you would know that him attending an auction is never a good thing. It typically means that he bought some random thing he doesn’t need with some wild dream of restoring it or using it. This auction was no exception. Upon entering our door he immediately started talking about his most recent acquisition. My wife sense some discord between her mother and father and began talking about random things, with her mother, like vitamins for weight loss while her father talked to me. The thing he bought ended up being a very old 20-30 foot boat. He has plans in his head for restoring the boat and spending his free time on it fishing. He asked me to help him with the project which is quite unusual. I am not sure if that is a good of bad thing yet because I haven’t seen the boat. I couldn’t read by my mother-in-law well enough to judge the condition of the boat by her mood.
