A little shocked.

Our kids attend birthday parties for other children on a pretty routine basis. When our first son was little and we were naive there was a time when we expected to receive thank you cards for the gifts our son gave his friends. After never receiving a thank you card from any of these children or their parents we gave up on the idea. We decided that we must be old fashioned or something and didn’t get the memo about no longer having to send a thank you card. Recently our son received an unexpected card in the mail. In it was a hand written note for a gift he had recently given. I have to say we were shocked. We really thought that we were the only parents left who make our children write thank you notes. I am happy to see that gratitude is still being taught to some children out there. I believe this is a good personal characteristic to have.
