Maybe next year…

There were a great many projects that I wanted to complete this summer but didn’t get around to doing. One thing I wanted to do was build a brick oven in our backyard. My wife has been drooling over them online and I know it would be a great addition to our outdoor lifestyle. This is something I hope to get started next spring. I also had hopes of finishing some remodeling work in our basement. I need to repaint the ceiling and add some new lighting. It is very dark down there right now and feels more like a cave than an inviting family space. I have had my eye on something along the line of those Casablanca fans. I don’t know if that is what we will ultimately end up with. The first step is going to be to get the ceiling freshened up. I think it is shame that we have a finished basement but hardly ever use it because it just doesn’t feel inviting.
