Coop builder.

I am finally reaching the end of the phase of my chicken coop construction. After a great amount of deliberation about where to locate the chicken coop we ultimately decided to dedicate a corner of the garage to this project. Living in a very cold climate we knew that no one would want to trudge into the middle of the back yard to collect eggs. Building the coop in the corner of the garage serves several purposes. It protects the chickens from the elements and also from various predators. It gives us the ability to be out of the elements to care for the chickens and collect the eggs. The chickens will not be exposed to the diseases carried by wild birds in our yard. We will have electric handy for heating and cooling them as necessary. The run that I am going to build will not become muddy and nasty from rain and water build up which means healthier chickens over the long run.
