Am I really that old?

I turned 40 years old this summer. It is not something that I really think too much about. There are times when I am reminded just how old I am. This week was one of those times. A friend of mine from high school sent me a birth announcement for his first grandchild and invited me to stop by and smoke some Black and Mild cigars with him. I will admit this threw me for a loop because I can’t imagine being old enough to have children who could make me a grandparent. Apparently the reality is that I am in fact this old. My wife and I have been married just shy of 20 years. If we had children early in our marriage is it very possible that we could have a child who would be old enough to have children. Thankfully we waited until much later in our marriage to have children and this is not a worry I will face any time soon.
