Good times…

This is the first year my older son has participated in Boy Scouts since we moved two years ago. His last scouting experience was less than great. His previous troop was just not very well organized. I have to say that the troop he belongs to now is extremely well organized. It seems like they have an activity just about every week or weekend for the boys. This weekend we will be going camping with his troop. Although I am not really looking forward to camping on a cold and rainy weekend in November I am thankful that he will have these experiences. Children need to see the outdoors during less than favorable conditions to appreciate all of the wonders of our world more fully. It is the cold and wet camping trips of my youth that allowed me to really appreciate the warm and sunny ones. The world is a different place on a mucky November day than it is on a sunny one in June.
