A bit bummed.
Posted by The Inspector on November 24th, 2010 filed in UncategorizedThis week, at work, someone forwarded some photos of a bear that her family member had shot during hunting season. I will admit right now that I am not a hunter. I understand people hunting to feed their family and have no qualms with that. I don’t really getting killing stuff just to kill it but am not going to argue the point. Getting back to the point these were photos of what ended up being the second largest bear ever shot in our state. It weighed in at 774 pounds! This thing was mammoth. The story behind the bear was pretty incredible and it had actually been tagged by the forest service and relocated in prior years. All I could think of when looking at the pictures was how bad I felt for this bear. It seemed to me that a bear that had reached that size had obviously lived a life worthy of respect instead of being killed and stuffed. I know that not being a hunter there is likely some good argument out there for killing this amazing creature but I just can’t see it from where I stand right now.
