The things I need…

When it comes to asking for things for myself for Christmas I have a very short list. I tend to think of only the things that I really need as opposed to the things I dream of owning. This year I really need some new work clothes and some workout gear. When I daydream about the things I would like to find under the tree the list is equally short. I would love a pair of steiner binoculars to use when we go camping and a couple of pieces of equipment for my metal detector. There was a time when I would think nothing of asking for the moon for Christmas but we live a different life now. We weigh our purchases carefully and meaningfully. Our first priority is making the holidays special for the children and our family. The smiles on their faces is really enough for me right now. I leave the big dreaming for them to do instead of spending time on it myself.
