Shoveling the roof.

Do you want to know what is on my schedule for tomorrow? Well, I have an exciting project ahead of me. I am going to be climbing out my upstairs window to shovel snow off my roof. Yes, you read that right. I will be spending my Saturday morning shoveling snow off of my house. Our area has been literally dumped on by the forces of nature. We received somewhere around three feet of snow over the last week and there is no end in sight. We cannot see out of some of our upstairs windows because the snow is so deep. We are expecting another foot of snow on Sunday which makes our predicament troublesome. I have no idea what the weight of all that snow is doing to our roof and I am not wanting to find out. I know that a couple of our porches are not sloped steeply enough to allow the snow to work off of them adequately. To prevent any issues I feel my best option is to climb out there and scoop off what I can in order to prevent potential problems should the rest of the winter continue this way.
