Almost a year…

It occurred to me this week that it has been almost a year since I had my auto accident. It doesn’t seem possible that last year at this time my world evolved around casts, crutches, and ultimately compression stockings. Prior to my accident I had never broken a bone in my body. I had no idea what to expect when the doctors told me that my leg was broken and would need surgery. To be honest I worried that I might never be the same active person again. Here, I am one year later and happily I feel almost back to where I was prior to the accident. I admit that my leg is not what it once was but it isn’t holding me back from most of my daily activities. I can’t run like I used to but I am getting there. I don’t know if I ever will run a marathon but at least I can ride bikes and chase after my children. It is amazing the perspective I have now versus last year at this time. I am so thankful for where I am today and everything that I have because someone almost took it all away from me.
