Hump day.

The place where I work has a unique approach to “hump” day. On Wednesdays we have what is called a quiet day. The means that we switch our phones to voice mail and do not schedule appointments. We instead are to spend the day getting caught up on paperwork. I have worked in this type of profession for a very long time and have never gotten a quiet day no matter how much I needed one. As frustrated as I get with the overwhelming amount of work we are asked to accomplish I do appreciate that someone had the insight to institute “quiet day”. I can only hope that this is one thing that does not change in our office over time. This day makes the rest of the week doable and keeps us all sane.
