Setting an example.

We try to live in such a way as to set an example for our children. For the most part we think before we speak or act. Most parents know their children learn by what they live and what goes on around them. I know this is not new information and likely you were hoping I would have something more enlightening to share but I don’t. I work with people and families who for whatever never got this message. These are people who don’t consider parenting to be something you have to work at or give consideration to. In fact the only thing many of them seem able to do is watch television or text on their phones. They spend no more time parenting their children than it takes to click here for vitamins. There are the rare cases where people are trying to make a better life for themselves and their family. I wish there were more people like this on my caseload but there aren’t. It does remind me on a daily basis to be the best parent I can be when I walk in the door after a long day at work and be deliberate and considerate in my actions and words.
