Vaccinating a dog.
Posted by The Inspector on March 30th, 2011 filed in UncategorizedWe have embarked on a new level of self-sufficiency. For a couple of years we have given our dog her vaccination for kennel cough. This was no big deal because it is a nasal spray. This weekend we realized that our dog is scheduled for a much overdue grooming appointment and that she is due for her regular vaccinations. We decided to try giving her these shots ourselves with supplies from the local Tractor Supply. Had we waited for a vet appointment it would have been another month and we would need to reschedule the groomer. I have given shots before and it seemed like no big deal until we had the needle in hand. Ultimately we decided to use a smaller insulin needle and this proved to be a painless procedure for everyone involved. The cost of the vaccination was about $6.00 as opposed to $50.00 and two hours of waiting at the vets office. I am glad we decided to save our time and money and do this ourselves.
