History lessons…

Our oldest son absolutely loves history. He reads his history books just for the fun of it. Sometimes you would think that he is reading a comedy novel rather than a history book. During the course of the day he will read out loud things he finds particularly funny. I love that he finds humor in the fact that women were once seen as inferior. It shows just how far our world has advanced. A child today looks up the notion of women not being allowed to vote as antiquated and dumb. It makes it seem unreal that it wasn’t that long ago that women were wearing corsets and fighting for equal rights in our country. I tried explaining to my son that there are still countries where women are considered second class citizens but he just cannot wrap his head around that fact quite yet.
