Up all night…

My neighbor stopped me this morning to tell me that there are bears in our neighborhood. I have no idea why he thinks I need to know this. There are always bears in our neighborhood. I honestly think he tells me this thinking that we will quit gardening. There are so many things to attract bears into our neighborhood besides our garden. People leave trash outside in cans and barbeque. Most of the damage caused by bears are because they are trying to get into trash cans and bird feeders as opposed to vegetable gardens. My neighbor stays awake all night and is quite aware of what goes on outside during the evening. If he would sleep at night like the rest of us he wouldn’t care whether bears are roaming in our yards.
