Feeling old.

Last night we attended a family gathering. It has been a very, very long time since we have seen anyone in my wife’s family. I couldn’t help but feel old when I realized that the people in her family who are our age have children who are graduating high school or already in the military. Considering that our youngest is just about to start kindergarten you can imagine why this would make me feel old. Having young children who are more interested in Spider Man pajamas than hip hop clothing gives you a different perspective on your own age. I don’t regret having children at an older age but I can also see how having older children at this stage of life would be nice as well. I can only hope that raising teenagers in my 50′s won’t age me dramatically.
