Double standard.
Posted by The Inspector on July 9th, 2011 filed in UncategorizedThe office where I work has a dress code. For some reason there is double standard in the office as to how this code applies to women versus men. For some reason the women in the office are able to get away with wearing much more casual clothing than the men are. It would be much simpler if we all just wore hospital scrubs but we don’t. The women often wear capri pants that really look like long shorts to me. They also wear tank tops, sandal, and mini skirts. Considering that I have to wear slacks, dress shoes, and a button down shirt it doesn’t seem fair that they dress in the manner that they do. I feel like the men in our office should be granted some leeway when it comes to summer attire as well. Our office is poorly cooled and it would be really nice if I could be a little more comfortable in the heat. This policy is not likely to change very soon because there are only 3 men in our office and around 35 women.
