Brewing…

I believe I have posted a time or two about our home brewing adventures. In the past we have tried making both wine and beer. Our wines have never been good but our beer has been outstanding. A month or so ago we started to make hard cider. Last weekend we bottle our first batch of hard cider and have since started a second batch. I have to say that cider making is undoubtedly my favorite brewing process. Maybe it is because I built my own cider press and apple scratter. There is just something about a process that is so hands on and yet really simple that I like. I can’t wait until our cider has aged a proper amount of time and we are really able to tell what it tastes like. Right now it is pretty green and doesn’t have a whole lot of apple flavor. We have read that after 4-6 months the flavor will develop and it will taste significantly better.
