Quiet time…

In the evening after the children are in bed my wife and I retreat to separate parts of the house for some alone time. After being married for twenty years we realize that we don’t need to fill every moment of each other’s day. My wife usually likes to watch a bit of television in bed. I, on the other hand, tend to sit in front of the computer and watch a youtube video download or two. After and hour or so we typically end up in the same room and watch a television show together or just talk. This works for us. I know some couples would see this as odd but for us it feels just right. We aren’t ignoring each other but simply respecting each other’s right to be alone with our own thoughts for a while.
