Holiday traditions…

Do you have family traditions during the holidays? We try to incorporate as many traditions as we can into the Christmas holiday. The goal is for our children to not see the holidays as simply being about presents but rather to see it as a collection of shared experiences. Today we completed one of our main traditions which is baking cookies. Each year we make several types of cookies to share with family and friends. The children beg us to do this each year and get very concerned if it gets too close to Christmas and we haven’t baked. This evenings project was finishing our cookie baking. The last batch of cookies we made was gingerbread cookies. For some reason cutout cookies are their absolute favorite to make. We always have a blast making them despite the mess. I hope these are things are children will remember in the years to come.
