I’m running out of room on my Wii and I’ve already had to delete some virtual console games to make room for save files. (I know I can download them again for free if I want to.) I figure it’s about time I get an SD card I can use exclusively for my wii. I was wondering if there were any recommendations about the size of the card. For example, can a Wi not handle an 8GB card and things like that. It seems that Wikipedia says it can only handle 2GB but I don’t know if that’s true or not. Also, if anyone knows about how many “boxes” there are to a GB that would be nice to know as well.

This is the most impressive console video game I have ever seen, period. Let me emphasize something here: If you’re looking for Halo, get Halo 3, 2, or 1. This isn’t Halo at all. While in Halo you can stand in the middle of a doorway and blast all who get between you and the next doorway, in GOW you can’t even do this in the very beginning of the game! The multi-player is also tons of fun. Not really about run and gunning but requires strategy and for your to flank your enemy to take them out efficiently. It lacks customizable options. Overall very solid game and well worth the money.

I recently read about some hardcore gamers that stay awake for days at a time trying to beat a game. You have to wonder how they deal with basic human functions. This would be an ideal market for incontinence products. Certainly they can’t all have bladders made of steel. I cannot imagine what this type of fanatical gaming does to ones health and well-being. Personally, I have absolutely no intention of playing any game this long to find out.

Now that school is out for the summer my son has begun to quiz us endlessly to play on the computer. For a while, he was content visiting preschool oriented sites such as those recommended on public television. Lately, he has stated he is bored with with these sites and is looking for something new to try. As a parent it is often challenging to find age appropriate and safe websites that feature children games. It seems like every product we see or buy has a website and urges us to visit it for “fun and games”. Because my son can read, anything this usually creates a barrage of pleads to visit website X to check out the fun and games. Many websites you come across features games that may be appropriate on their own may be appropriate for your child to play but the other content on the site is not acceptable.

In my quest to seek out a variety of safe sites for him to visit I discovered Midoritech.com. This great website offers a growing selection of games suitable for the entire family that even includes both PC and Mac games. Midoritech offers fun games like Majong, Ladybugs, and YooDoo. My son, a budding environmentalist, is particularly taken with the game called Global Warming. I even recommended Midoritech to my brother, who a Mac user, because I am sure he will enjoy playing the Mac games offered like Mac solitaire. Aside from the great games offered by Midoritech I really appreciate the fact that this site is about just games and nothing more. We can browse the selection of games knowing that the content is safe and our children will not be influenced by inappropriate content or marketing ploys for other products.

If there is one thing I am really into that is gaming. This is not to suggest I am crazy about any one gaming system. For the most part I find that playing on my PC is all that I really need. Presently I really hooked on the Serious Sam game series. The series follows the adventures of hero Sam “Serious” Stone and his fight against the forces of the extraterrestrial overlord Mental who seeks to destroy humanity. Sam uses an array of weaponry such as a plasma cutter in his battle to rid his world of evil. It should be a blast to test the next installment of the Sam series that is due for release very shortly. Be on the lookout for Serious Engine.
